Sadly it was our last term of dance club at The Holmesdale School, but we finished on a real high! The girls really wanted to do a dance that told a story as they enjoyed the drama and dance aspect. We explored many different songs and they chose Ed Sheeran – Castle on A Hill.

This was the perfect song to tell a story to and worked well as a trio. The girls decided on their characters and together worked on choreography to suit the lyrics of the song. It was wonderful to see how their dance skills had really developed over the year, and their creativity and ability to think out of the ordinary. We got very creative with trying new lifts and exploring different ways of using weight to amplify and change movements. We also explored emotion through various gestures as well as various dance actions. The girls loved doing partner work and supported each other really well. They performed the dance to the PE lead who was very impressed. It was so sad to end our term but what a lovely finish!
